I have been with Dr. Anderson and other DVM’s in practice for approx.8 months for Breed Specific joint issues and as consult for treatment. Now mind you, one, the female, Akiah, was a “GIANT” Alaskan Malamute Sled dog, capable of pulling 2000 lbs. by herself- She was exercised daily and on weight monitoring, yet in a 4 month period this year from spring to end of summer her back hips just kept degenerating rapidly which happens at early age with many of the “Giant Breed” canines. I wanted a knowledgeable second eval and input ideas on reasonable treatment, and comfort options. Now mind you, at the same time we needed our other dog examined for his breed incidence of joint slippage/issues- Onyx is a 3 year old 22# Pug. Dr. Anderson was trained and knowledgeable of both and considered my total disability income and was thorough, caring, truthful. As an RN for 30 yrs, My 4 legged “Charges” were more than “Pets”. 3 weeks ago, My big Hairy Sister Girl finally deteriorated and , as I promise all when they tell me enough.. I Will not let them in needlessly suffer. I wanted to write this earlier, the Docs and staff are 10++, _I am still shedding huge tears on my keyboard- yet I kept my promise, and I know she is happy!! I think the Ballston Spa Vet Clinic DVM’s and all staff are Great, and Truly understand the need to treat the “Whole Family”, and love their vocation!!! I would and have Highly recommended them to friends. KUDOS from top to bottom/ bottom to top.
I have been taking all of my pets from guinea pigs to dogs to Dr. Andersen and staff for many years. I have been extremely happy with their care but it wasn’t until a recent tragedy did I see just how truly caring and devoted they are. One of our dogs got out of the yard a couple of weeks ago and was hit by a car. As any pet owner knows it was like my child was hurting. I immediately called and although it was closing time they told me to come right over. Dr. Smith stayed through a full set of X-rays and full examination of Sadie and discussed all options with us . The next morning Dr Andersen called me to discuss surgical options. Thanks to everyone there one month later Sadie is doing well and has started their rehab program where Tina is awesome with her! My family can’t thank all the staff there enough for giving Sadie a second chance and not giving up on her!

I have been using the Ballston Spa Veterinary Clinic for the past thirteen years for the care of my cat, Thomas. Dr. Salamun has been my primary veterinarian. However, since Thomas has had so many health issues over the thirteen years, I have also been seen by the other veterinarians in the clinic.
I have found all of them to be tremendously caring and professional. I have never felt rushed in verbalizing my concerns, or in their evaluations and treatments. I am especially grateful to Dr. Salamun. She has taken the time to process with me about my pet’s care in person, by phone, and by email. I have had several emergency situations with Thomas, and they have helped to stabilize him, and I believe, saved his life.
If you used a five star rating system, I would give them a seven. Many of my friends use this veterinarian clinic, and have the same high praise that I do. If anyone ever asks about a veterinarian practice in the area, I always recommend the Ballston Spa Veterinarian Clinic. I think thirteen years is a wonderful track record, and I have no doubt this will continue.
I give my permission for any or all of this recommendation to be used by or for them.

The whole staff is very passionate towards their patients. My little dog was just recently adopted from Saratoga animal shelter. She was still a bundle of nerves when I brought her in for her check up. Both the vet and the tech were very kind and gentle with her. She even was given a treat. They also gave me an appt. right away when I explained my concern over a little bleeding where she was spayed four days prior. I am giving a five star rating.

Thorough and caring as always. I’m never surprised by costs as they provide me with options before anything is done with quoted costs
A warm, welcoming place for people and pets alike. They always get us in for unexpected visits, and don’t charge extra . Our pets are always cared for with compassion, and no procedures are done without them first reviewing the need and cost and acquiring our approval first. A nice play room, too, for the kids while they wait.

Always pleased about our experiences at Ballston Spa Veterinary Clinic with Velvet. All of the employees, technicians and Doctors are warm, friendly and thorough. Velvet loves to come here and can’t wait to get in the car when we tell her she is going to the Vets! Thank you to everyone, especially Dr. Smith.
Rescued our pup in June of 2013. Next day took her to Ballston Spa Veterinary Clinic for exam and vaccinations. Purchased their puppy wellness package. Received excellent, professional, loving care. Our pup loves the place, doctors and technicians. We recommend them to anyone looking for excellent care for their pets.

Took my 2 chihuahuas in to get a check-up & establish a relationship with a new Vet since we just moved here. The staff at the front desk are so welcoming, friendly & helpful. They must see so many pets coming through the doors, and yet took the time to say ‘hi’ to my dogs. Dr. Smith & the vet techs were awesome! They took the time to listen to the info I have on my dogs and were very compassionate when handling my dogs. One of my dogs had a terrible tummy and instead of having meds & specialized food pushed on me, Dr. Smith worked with me to find a more natural method to help my doggies tummy. This I really appreciate. She also took the time to explain my dogs condition and what options there were. I’ve been to several vets that want you in & out quickly and the try to sell you Science Diet crap and a bunch of other stuff. Not so at Ballston Spa Vet Clinic. I’m thrilled to have found a great vet clinic with awesome, friendly, caring, animal-loving staff!

I always get great care for my dog when I visit the animal hospital. I feel it is a team approach- we discuss my dog and decide what path we will take. I am always confident w/my vet and the recommendations that are made for her medical care. Whether I call and ask questions, stop in to pick up medication, or bring in my dog for her visit I receive the best care from all the staff and vets.
